Examples of previous, current, and future contributions:

CNC was a major sponsor and organizer of Africa’s first-ever international SWAT Conference (Soil and Water Assessment Tool), which was held at Al Akhawayn University, in Ifrane, Morocco this March – in collaboration with Texas A&M AgriLife. This important multi-party collaboration was led by Dr. Raghavan Srinivasan (Texas A&M) and President of CNC Dr. Chehrazade Aboukinane. It was an extremely important gathering of international experts and institutions in the field of watershed management. The SWAT model was created under the leadership of Texas A&M AgriLife’s Dr. R. Srinivasan over 20 years ago, and is the only soil and water modeling tool in the world that integrates all aspects of climate, topography, soil properties, land use, and management practices to assess water availability, water quality, and sediment transport. CNC was very proud to have been involved, given its commitment to instilling environmental stewardship and Indigenous values in all its students – embodying respect, responsibility, and reciprocity.
CNC will be offering several workshops on complementary SWAT interfaces and tools, including:
